Write and use paper and lighter items

Fill a Paper item with private text, view the saved content, or use a Lighter to start an ER:LC fire.

Before you begin

View the active character's inventory and confirm it contains a positive quantity of the item you intend to use.
An administrator must configure Document Paper and Pocket Lighter in the Paper and Lighter categories.
/item use and /item show must be enabled. Use them in the server's allowed channel and wait for any configured cooldown.
A Lighter also requires a connected ER:LC Extension and an online private server.
If administrators set the ER:LC Item view rule to Only in-game, reading Paper with /item show also requires the active character to be online in that private server.

Using a Lighter consumes one item. Choose it only when you intend to start one of the listed fires.

Filling Paper replaces one blank Paper with one filled copy. Use an ordinary, replaceable Paper item.

Run /item use item:<paper> and select an unfilled Document Paper from autocomplete.
In Fill paper, enter a required Title of up to 80 characters and required Content of up to 1,200 characters. For example, use Averon Q8 2022 Registration and Registration document for Averon Q8 2022, plate RIV-204.
Submit the modal. CoreRP consumes one blank Paper, creates one separately saved filled Paper, and privately confirms Paper saved as title.
Run /item show item:<paper> to read the saved Content privately.

Run /item use item:<lighter> and select Pocket Lighter.
In the private selector, choose exactly one fire type:
- Building — sends the ER:LC command for a building fire.
- House — sends the ER:LC command for a house fire.
- Brush — sends the ER:LC command for a brush fire.
CoreRP replaces the selector with a private confirmation after ER:LC accepts the command. The Lighter is already consumed, and no Core log or direct message is created.

This paper is already filled. — choose an unfilled Paper in /item use; use /item show to read filled Paper.
The Paper modal expires or the source item disappears — reopen your inventory, then start a new /item use flow with an available blank Paper.
Paper conversion fails — check whether the blank or filled Paper is present before trying again.
For an ER:LC connection message, ask an administrator to check the extension setup.
A setup, disabled-command, required-channel, or cooldown response — finish setup, enable the relevant command, use the required channel, or wait for the displayed cooldown.
