Add, remove, and view vehicle documents

Move a filled Paper item into a vehicle, read the stored document, and return it to your active character.

Before you begin

  • An administrator must use Manage perms in Emergency Services & Phone to grant you either Police commands or City Police commands. You also need an active CoreRP character for Add and Remove.
  • /police documents and /police must be enabled. Use the commands in the configured channel.
  • Write a Document Paper item so your active character has a positive, visible Document Paper configured as Paper and filled with a title.
  • Know the exact case-sensitive plate of a visible, non-confiscated vehicle. The vehicle may belong to any active citizen and does not need to be registered.

Adding moves one selected Paper from your inventory to the vehicle. Removing it returns the Paper to the acting officer.

The example uses the Document Paper item with title Averon Q8 2022 Registration and content Registration document for Averon Q8 2022, plate RIV-204. CoreRP requires a nonempty title but accepts empty content. When content is present, keep it at 1,024 characters or fewer so the document result can display it.

Use a unique document title so it is easy to select later.

Add a document

Run:

/police documents add plate:<exact plate> item:<paper>
  1. Enter the plate first.
  2. Select the filled Paper from item autocomplete. The picker shows up to 25 eligible choices with title and count.
  3. Send the command and confirm the private Added document to vehicle plate. result.

One Paper leaves the officer's active inventory and becomes a document on the vehicle.

View a document

  1. Run /police documents show plate:<exact plate>.
  2. In Select document, choose one of the first 25 stored documents.
  3. Confirm that Vehicle document shows the expected Plate, Document, Title, and Content.

The private selector is limited to the member who opened it.

Remove a document

  1. Run /police documents remove plate:<exact plate> item:<document>.
  2. Enter the plate first, then select the stored document from autocomplete. The picker groups matching names and titles and offers at most 25 choices; a unique title avoids an ambiguous first match.
  3. Confirm the private removal result.
  4. Run the show command again and view your inventory. Confirm the document left the vehicle and one nonpermanent Paper returned to the acting officer.

Stored documents remain attached when the vehicle is transferred.

Troubleshooting

  • The Paper is missing from autocomplete — confirm it is visible, has a positive count, is still configured as Paper, and has a nonempty title. Content may be empty.
  • A cooldown response — wait for the displayed cooldown before retrying.
  • Vehicle with this plate was not found — match the plate's capitalization exactly and confirm the vehicle's owner has an active citizen and the vehicle is not confiscated.
  • This vehicle has no stored documents — confirm you used the intended plate and that the add result succeeded.
  • Selected document is no longer available — reopen the command and choose from the current list.
  • A document error — check whether the Paper is currently in the officer's inventory or attached to the vehicle before repeating the command.
